A Casual Thanksgiving

In my family, Thanksgiving dinner is always a casual affair. We get together, we cook, we eat, we watch movies, we eat some more. Thanksgiving takes several hours, if not the whole day.
I knew my day would consist of me cooking, eating, and laying around, that is when I wasn't busy chasing my two-year-old. Cute and comfy was the way to go.
I found this gray sleeveless cardigan at Factory Connection. Belted, it looks really great and helps create a waistline. I just love it; it's really cute. I went with my black leggings and some simple flats that I have had forever.
Oh, yeah. Did you notice the "rule" I'm breaking? Yeah, I'm talking about that striped top that I picked up at Sears. In case you were wondering, yes you can wear horizontal stripes. Anyone can. Also, how cute is this clutch? I picked it up at a little local store called Charmed.
And this picture right here shows what I am most grateful for in this world. My little girl, Mila. She is one of the main reasons I am doing this blog. I hope she will grow up loving herself no matter what. There is only one way I can think of to make that happen, and that is to lead by example.

In Love with Leopard

I'm just absolutely loving my outfit in this post. I have always had an affection for leopard print. It could have something to do with my hometown of DeQueen, Arkansas having the leopard as the school mascot. Maybe it's the magical way that the print camouflages round tummies. I suppose it could simply be that I love the way it looks on me.

Leopard, in fact, looks great on almost anyone. Also, it's a really fun, sexy print that can function as a neutral, too.Wear it with black, wear it with brown; wear it with black and brown, as I have done here. It even looks amazing with bright colors.

I would like to take a moment here to talk about my adorable furry boots and purse set. Originally from Avon, I picked this cute duo up at a local flea-market for $10. I am completely smitten with them, as well.

I feel so cute and confident in this outfit, as well as trendy; tunics, leggings, and boots being what its all about this Autumn, after all.
These boots are very comfy, too.

I chose my turquoise necklace and earrings to go with this outfit. Leopard is made up of blacks, browns, and tans, and turquoise looks amazing with all of those. Of course, it's hard to go wrong with turquoise. Much like leopard print, it's fun and goes with almost anything.

This is probably going to be one of my most-worn outfits this fall and winter. I absolutely love every part of it, from head to toe. Leopard, blacks and browns, and turquoise are all timeless and never quite go out of style. Hopefully I'll be rocking this ensemble for a while.

Plaid Leggings

This post is all about my adorable pair of plaid leggings. I just had to get them when I saw them (along with a pair of leopard ones, but I'll save that for another post.)
Ladies, I am here to tell you that YES YOU CAN rock a pair of leggings. Even if you are big. Even if you are top heavy. What do I always say? If you love it, wear it!

Do I look a little like an ice-cream cone? Probably. Do I care? No. Why? Because I love these leggings and I feel happy when I wear them.

If you are a little self-conscious about being top-heavy, you can pair printed leggings with a solid-colored top. That way the focus will be more on the leggings themselves. I love the sheer skirt-like bottom part of this black tunic.
For this outfit I decided my U.S. Polo Assn bag and a simple string of white beads were all the accessories I needed. My silver shoes added just a touch of dressy to this casual ensemble.

The tunic and leggings were purchased at my local Family Dollar store. I really find some cute things there sometimes! The silver shoes were a great find at a thrift store. Handbag from Stage.

Happy shopping and thanks for reading!
